Family Portrait Combinations

Family portraits are one of those moments in the day that go by quickly, but the photos (and footage!) last forever. This form helps me know who matters most to you so I can be ready to capture those combinations on your wedding day.

Below you'll find a list of common portrait groupings to check off, plus space to add any custom combinations that are important to you. If you're also sharing a portrait list with your photographer, this can serve as a great starting point for that conversation too.

A note about your film: While I'll do my best to capture every portrait combination you've listed, I want to be upfront that not all of them may make it into the final edit of your highlight film. Family portraits are wonderful, but too many can shift the pacing away from the story of your day. That said, having this list is incredibly valuable to me... it tells me who your important people are, and that context shapes how I film your entire day, not just the portrait session.

Your Names

So I know whose family I'm getting to know!

Names to Know

I love being able to greet your people by name. It makes the whole day feel more personal for everyone.

Parents, siblings, grandparents, or anyone I should know by name. Include their relationship so I can keep everyone straight!

Best friends, the officiant, a favourite aunt, the person who's definitely going to cry first... anyone you want me to pay extra attention to.

Partner 1's Family

Select the portrait combinations you'd like for Partner 1's side of the family.

Check all that apply. "Couple" refers to both of you together.

Add any custom groupings here. For example: "Partner 1 with Aunt Maria and Uncle Joe" or "Couple with Partner 1's cousins."

Priorities & Notes

Help me understand which of these matter most to you.

If we're short on time (it happens!), which ones are non-negotiable for you?

For example, elderly family members who may need help getting to the portrait location, or young children who might need a little extra patience. This helps me and your photographer plan ahead.

Thank you! This helps me so much on your wedding day. I'll make sure your important people get the attention they deserve.
