Deirdre & Tavish

Sonora Island, British Columbia

Some weddings are held in venues. This one was held by the land itself. Deirdre & Tavish gathered their closest people on Saturna Island for a weekend that felt less like a wedding and more like a homecoming. The flowers lining the ceremony came from their own garden. The fish on the table came straight off their dock. Guests fell asleep to the sound of the trees and woke to native birds and the rhythm of the ocean tide. It was that kind of wedding. There was music, laughter, and so much food. There was love that had clearly been growing long before this weekend made it official. And there was a piece of land that held all of it, quietly and perfectly. It was an honour to be there with a camera.
